The unfortunate reality of modern life is that we live in a sort of 'chemical soup'. The air we breathe, food we eat, soil the food is grown in, water we drink...all are touched in some way by toxins and chemicals that lurk unseen and may or may not be good for us. We can filter our water, eat food that is as clean as possible and not do our walking or running on smog polluted highways, but our bodies are still exposed to some uninvited toxins that we need to get rid of.
One of our favorite ways to detox at My Healthy Bliss is with regular, usually at least twice weekly, detoxifying baths. When we have time to construct our own detox bath, we put a scoop of coconut oil, a handful of Real Salt Bath Salts or Dead Sea Mineral Bath Salts and about 10 drops of 'Tranquility' essential oil into very warm or hot water and soak for 20 minutes. Ahhhhhh. We can almost feel the toxins and free radicals leaving and the good minerals seeping into our skin. This is not just a selfish indulgence in relaxation, it's an absolute must for our stress and toxin bombarded bodies that has very real therapeutic benefits.
When there is little time to build our own detox bath, we don't have to worry. We can grab a jar of Lavender Harvest or Tranquility or Warming Balsam Fir Mineral Bath salts and know that a relaxing, rejuvenating, detoxifying mineral bath is only as far away as the time it takes to get the water hot. Heaven. Pure Heaven.
Scheduling time to relax and detox our over-stressed bodies with a detox bath a couple of times a week is not optional at My Healthy Bliss...it's just part of a healthy lifestyle.
