This is our getting started kit, and includes all of the ingredients you’ll need to make 2 gallons of homemade Kombucha. We've included green (low caffeine) and black teas for making your kombucha.
Kombucha is a delicious, effervescent, tea-based drink that’s rich in antioxidants and probiotics. Its unique flavor refreshes like nothing else—and now you can make it in your own kitchen! Experiment with different green, white, or black teas to make your own signature batches of this delicious, fizzy, fermented drink.
Kombucha is made using a Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast, or a “SCOBY.” The SCOBY eats the included sugar, along with nutrients in the tea, producing acids, enzymes, amino acids, polyphenols, and a light effervescence. Simply follow the included instructions to combine the ingredients, place in a 1 gallon jar, cover with cheese cloth, and allow to ferment for 1 to 2 weeks. Once the pH level reaches 3, your Kombucha is done fermenting, and you can pour into individual bottles to develop its sparkling quality over the next 2 to 5 days.
This kit is a fun activity for anyone to try, and will make a great gift for the DIY culinary wiz in your life.
Why You’ll Love It: It’s fun to watch the SCOBY cultures come alive, eating up the sugar, and bubbling into a tasty, refreshing drink before your very eyes.
